TEATRO DA DIDASCÁLIA was founded in 2008 in Joane, Vila Nova de Famalicão. Having its core activity linked to the performing arts, it pursues a work of research and artistic crossover, with the aim to come up with an innovative language of its own. In 2018, Teatro da Didascália celebrates its tenth anniversary.
The company develops an intense and continuous research work on a physical level that, along with texts, uses the body as an experimental tool. In that way, it seeks to pave the way to the creation of an original dramaturgy and language, investing in a visually appealing and universal theatrical writing.
In parallel with the creation of shows, Teatro da Didascália develops three cultural programming projects: the Vaudeville Rendez-Vous International Festival; the theatre showcase, Territórios Dramáticos (Dramatic Territories), both seeking to change the way we use the public and private spaces, enhancing through them, the interaction between the arts, the territory and their communities; and the FAUNA space, a regular programming and creation project, FAUNA, founded in 2018, at the Quinta da Bemposta, in Joane.
