In the scope of the project Neighbors – a documentary directed by Pedro Neves, which collected the testimonies of the people who live in Edifício das Lameiras, the Teatro da Didascália has also programmed the South Korean artist Juhyung Lee, to present the show “C’est pas là, c’est par là”.

“C’est pas là, c’est par là” is a communal exercise in the process of reconstruction and deconstruction. A once empty space is now filled with strings like a newly woven spider web. One person approaches a stone on the floor and begins to wind a string, while another walks to the middle of the web and contemplates the tangle of threads. The spectators become actors, passing the strings over and under each other. The actors meet, the space becomes a meeting place, and the individual quickly forms a small community. This piece is a meditation on spatial scale and individual places in society by South Korean Artist Juhyung Lee. After having toured the world, this show now arrives at Edifício das Lameiras, in Famalicão.

This playful, political and participatory work invites the audience to negotiate their relations with the space, the place, and with each other through an environment conceived, built specifically for each performance.
