EcoMonstra [provisional title] is part of Soledad RodrÃguez’s doctoral research process and seeks to construct other narratives of voices, particularly of women. Starting from the figure of the ECO nymph, who was condemned to repeat other voices, and who, in turn, was dismembered and stripped of her body, leaving only her voice; her figure is taken from the proposal of (dis)embodied monstrosity in order to subvert the narratives that have been constructed of the voice or voices of women in history and in the present. This is why, in this residency, this aspect of “Monstruous body- disembodied” will be experimented with through various vocal, sound, body and writing practices with the support of sound and scenic artist Cristian Arancibia, centred on the concept of repetition derived from the condemnation of ECO.
