Have you ever thought that fire is one of the few visible things that always upwards? Everything works like Newton’s apple or Eve and Adam’s. The apple fell and we fell with it, on Earth.

Fire is something else: fire goes against this law, fire shows its power, feeding and destroying the world. Basically, fire sums up the law of eternal return: destroying so that everything is born and is repeated again. As if that were not enough, it is the fire that represents happiness in Chinese culture. The fire smiles and always walks with its head held high.

In MATER FOGO, the compositions will be more smiling and, at the same time, they will have this rotund character, always meeting a point, where everything starts again.

In this edition, Rui Souza will continue his journey through compositions in a concert covered with keys. He and the other musicians are joined by Teresa Melo Campos, a member of the “Sopa de Pedra” and numerous other projects, revealing that the voice can also have the strength and tenderness of fire.
