Contemporary circus show referring to rurality, its deconstruction and image from an urban and contemporary perspective. Artistic research exploring the relation between the body and the object, which connects to the plastic installation, lightning and sound composition.
Going from the idea of the original and primary work and from its place in the current urban space, we have chosen an object that digs the times up to the present – the hoe. A symbol of work, a link between past and present, repetition and balance, common elements of the contemporary circus.
A poetical allusion to working the land, through an ancient object/implement that connects man to landscape. Ironic and one-off merge of contemporary objects that counterpoint the hoe. Starting from the ritual, repetition, going through struggle and endurance to get to germination. To explore the deconstruction of the hoe, bringing the spirit of rural materiality to urban context, increasingly non-material/evanescent.
